Win’s First Stroll

Today Win took his first stroll in his running stroller, which we call his car. Last Saturday Jared installed the infant hammock with the intention of taking him for a short run but he was having a fussy afternoon and had to stay home. Today was sunny and warm (in that March “warm” way) so we took him to two parks near our home. He fell asleep as soon as we started walking. We think that walking and running are going to be one of his favorite activities.

Pretty Nice Feet

Championship feet here. Remember, Win won the Chicago Marathon for his age division (under 0) this fall. In other news, Win decided he wanted to stay up pretty much all day yesterday and rebut all of our attempts to have him nap. The upside of that is he had another great night of sleeping, which is becoming pretty standard. Oh, and someone in our household peed on the wall last night. I won’t tell you who, he’s kind of embarrassed.

Let’s call him Win

I think Rachel and I have settled on spelling it just plain “Win.” Thanks for all your comments and suggestions, they were very useful for us in sorting out our thoughts. I think what it came down to for me is that I didn’t want to minimize the fact that, although we’re gonna call him Win, his name is Winfield. I feel a little like writing it Wynn would be like giving him another name. When he’s old enough to care, if he wants to spell it differently, that’s fine with us. Benjamin’s quasi-vietnamese spelling suggestions were definitely considered at length during the process, but in the end we thought he might have a hard time spelling “Nguyen,” so we’ll stick with the simpler version. Oh, and here’s a picture of Win lounging in bed with mom and dad - a little “SB” for the chump.

Hello to my internet fans

Another day, another cute picture. Rachel thinks Win looks like a doctor in these oversized white shirts - sort of like a baby lab coat. Win turned one week old last night and is still doing super, getting cuter by the day if that’s possible. Tonight Grandma Bonnie is coming for a week of hanging out and helping.

In My Crib

Here’s a cute pose of Win in his crib. Thanks to Uncle Doug and Aunt Barb for the beautiful crib, by the way - he seems to like it pretty well. Yesterday the little chump had two doctor’s appointments and managed to pee on a nurse during the first one. We were proud of him. I Hate Baths

Almost as much as I hate having my daiper changed. Or, maybe more. I’m not sure. In other news, I have my first official doctor’s appointment today, so I’m a little nervous about that. I’ll post more when I get a chance.
