ProPhoto - A Premium WordPress Theme for Professional Photographers

prophoto2.jpg

Since I spent a bunch of time building this WordPress Theme for Rachel’s blog, I thought I’d make it publicly available to other photographers. ProPhoto Wordpress Theme can now be purchased here. I posted about this in a photographers forum yesterday, and have already sold two copies!

I built the the website while staying up most of the night while stranded during the blizzard two nights ago. I’m pretty productive during inclement weather, I guess.

Stranded

Yesterday mid-day I went for a walk with my friend Lora. It was 48 degrees out. The snow was melting, drip, drip dripping and it smelled like spring.

Jared was at work, 5 miles away, and planning on working late because of an evening event. Then the storm hit. Whoosh! Crash! Thunder and lightning! 10 degree gusting winter winds. The storm progressed. The phone rang. It was Jared. He had tried to drive home but after going 20 yards he decided that it wasn’t worth it. He couldn’t see and everything was encased in ice. The police were telling people not to go out on the streets–at all. Jared’s not one to be slowed by a little winter driving, but this storm shut everyone down. He found a couch and slept at work–five miles away but unable to get home.

It was 48 degrees at noon and pleasant for walking. By 10:00pm it was 10 degrees and Jared was stranded in Zeeland. That’s variety!

Snowy Saturday with Dad

Jared and Win spent about 2 hours playing in the snow on Saturday.

Jared shoveled snow into a 4 foot high mountain which Win tried to climb.

It’s a good thing that his wagon is all-terrain.

He consumed several icicles, which he insists on calling, “bicycles.” What’s the difference anyway?

O Shirt

3, 2, 1, KNIT!

My mother-in-law is an amazing knitter, in fact she is an amazing crafter. She’s always working on a new project every time that I see her. She is one of those people who doesn’t have specific craft that she has majored in. She’ll do anything, fast and beautifully. Lately she’s been knitting a lot. Capitalizing on this, I gave her a very self-serving gift for Christmas. I gave her a book of instructions for knitting toys that my friend Jen recommended.Yesterday the mailman showed up at the door with a package. And getting packages is one of my favorite things! Inside the box was this amazing knit bear for Winfield. I can’t believe that she finished it already! It’s beautiful and ridiculously cute. Win has been toting it around this morning. He even put it in the highchair and ‘fed’ it breakfast. I love the expression on his face. He looks satisfied.080126_knit-bear-0009-edit.jpg080126_knit-bear-0016-edit.jpg

Big Pictures

Welcome everyone who came from the old blog! Feel free to look around. Every single post that was on the old blog has been imported and categorized here. If you want to poke around, scroll to the bottom of the page and try out categories, archives, or the search function.Oh, and we love your comments, so keep leaving them. It should be pretty self-explanatory. The first time you comment, we’ll have to accept it, to make sure you’re not a spambot, and then after that they should go up immediately. One of the main reasons I wanted to redesign Rachel’s blog is so we could have big, beautiful pictures. It always seamed like such a shame posting such tiny versions of Rachel’s pictures. So here are a few, the first of many, large pictures. Enjoy!Hattie is super smiley lately, and very much a pleasure to be around. She loves to look you in the eye and flirt.080107_080107-0466-edit.jpg080107_080107-0462-edit.jpg
