Super thanks to Christy Pacanowski

Yesterday, my friend and fellow photographer, Christy Pacanowski took a couple of pictures for me. Just at the right time the fabulous October breeze swept through making me look like a model with a fan on. Love it. Thanks Christy!

Christy does some amazing work. If you’re looking for a family and senior portrait photographer in the Holland Zeeland area, check her out! She’s great.

The origination of a half-decent superstition

Since knocking on wood made the short list of popular superstitions I guess I don’t know what it takes to create a really good one.  But the other day while taking out the trash, or some other benign reason for stepping outside, I looked down and saw this little blue feather on my doorstep.  I tried to take a picture of how perfectly it was left there, just like a small present, but I couldn’t do it justice.  There, right in the center of my perfectly plain cement steps sat this brilliant blue feather.  It’s like life was saying to me, “Have a nice day, here’s a blue feather.”

Ikea’s new product-HARRYTT

If you’ve ever been to an Ikea you know that nearly all of their stuff needs to be assembled. Most of the items come with a little z-shaped allen wrench or a little bottle opener thingy. With those tools you can build a bookshelf, chair or small home–whatever you bought. Occasionally an item will need more complex tools like a hammer or small saw. In those cases the necessary tools are stocked right next the item for those who don’t own a hammer or bread knife. While shopping for some new file cabinets I was a little overwhelmed at the thought of assembling them myself. Next to the file cabinets they offered a small tool called the HARRYTT. I splurged. She was the perfect Ikea assembler.

For the sake of fashion

Win heard that bed head was a trendy hairstyle. I tried to explain to him that it’s really kind of a late ’90s thing but he wanted to try it anyway. He went all out for the sake of fashion.

Jet-set

Zooming through Grand Rapids, on their way to California, Wyoming and Arizona! my parents spared us some time.  Win LOVES it when “Gramma” and “Bah” come.  My mom was rocking with him before bed when he said to her, “I am glad, because Gramma and Bah are here.”  Too precious!  I didn’t set that up, I promise.

Here’s Win being instructed by my dad on how to crack eggs.  His little club-like fingers did pretty well, all things considered.

Bead Management

Harriet is pretty good at putting her beads on herself.  Sometimes they get caught on her ears though.
