After much technical difficulty Jason and Lisa’s pictures are now ready! Here’s a slideshow of some of the highlights from their day. Click on the little shopping cart link on the slideshow to see all of their images. I had a blast with these. It was such a beautiful wedding!
Jared , Win Harriet and I hopped in out air conditioned, blue streak, minivan and sped down to Fort Wayne for 24 hours for a party that my Mom threw. I grew up in a city with no relatives. My mom and 3 other moms got together on a regular basis to pray for their kids. Those families became my Fort Wayne family. Long time friends and non-blood cousins are the Smits, Stauffer and Zabel family.
Here I am at the party with Betsy. Betsy and her husband John are fabulous photographers in Fort Wayne. Our journey into photography is very similar. We had a blast talking geeky photog stuff. Thanks for letting me get my grubby hands on your 5D Bets! 
On Sunday I had the pleasure of photographing Jason and Lisa’s engagement pictures. They are getting married on 6-7-08. Fun date huh!? :-)
I first met Jason in 1997! He has been a close friend of Jared and mine ever since. He met Lisa in the summer of ‘06 and within weeks of their relationship’s start our friends were taking bets as to when they’d get engaged. They are PERFECT for each other.
You can see why Jason got a ring on her finger fast. She’s gorgeous, inside and out! She’s getting a great guy too. I can’t imagine a more loyal, kind, and thoughtful groom, and I know Jason pretty well. I’ve marked my calendar for the 7th of June, 2058. I plan on photographing their 50th anniversary. Nothing me doubts that they will be anything less than 50 years and 1 month more in love.

…whose wedding I am photographing this summer, I was explaining to him that photographers are what artist/geeks do with their interests. Photography is fabulously geeky, and nothing brings out the geek in a photographer more than gear. While others are dreaming of new shoes (ok, the artist in me loves new shoes too) photographers dream small, expensive, black item whose value is determined my a string of numbers that only other photographers understand.
So anyway, yesterday I got a couple of new toys. They are little, but they bring out the geek in me. I got a 800 speed firewire CF card reader and 2 4GB 300x CF cards. Yeah…exciting…I know! Basically, now I can get the images from my camera to my computer in a jiffy, which makes the reception slideshows much quicker to process. :-)
Simone (Shartow) Tennant and I were 18 and freshmen at Hope College when we broke into Jason Koedyker and Benjamin Tennant’s dorm room. I’d briefly met Benjamin once and hadn’t yet met his roommate Jason. Simone had a little thing for Ben, but wasn’t telling. We, with 18-year-old bravado that I haven’t totally gotten rid of, felt that we were welcome to steal their stuff and vandalize their room. Simone and I spent about 20 minutes labeling every object in the room with Jason’s little yellow post-its until they were all gone. Wall, door, lamp, book, The Ides of March, poster, desk, floor, you name it and it had a little post-it on it.
Fast forward 11 years. Simone and Benjamin have 3 boys. Jason, whom we all call “Kool” has been my friend for 11 years. He is getting married on June 7th!! and I am photographing their wedding. He and Lisa had their first date in September 2006. By October everyone who knew them was pretty certain that this was it. She is fabulous, kind, fun, beautiful and PERFECT for our friend Jason. I just love Lisa and can’t wait for her to move to Holland next month.
